What a Product Engagement Looks Like

Product engineering starts before any code is written. In a short discovery phase we agree on the problem you are solving, who the users are, and which outcome would prove the product is working, then turn that into a prioritised backlog, clickable prototypes for the riskiest flows, and an architecture sized for the next stage of growth rather than an imagined future. This keeps the first release small enough to ship quickly while avoiding decisions that would force a rewrite later.

After launch the work shifts from building features to learning from real usage. We instrument the product with analytics and error monitoring, release in short iterations through automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, and review the data with you to decide what to build, improve or remove next. Work is planned in milestones with transparent pricing, you own the code and IP throughout, and the documentation and repository structure are set up so your own team can take over whenever you are ready.

Discovery, MVP, Scale

Engineering for the Stage You Are In

The right engineering choices change as a product matures. At MVP stage we favour a well-structured modular monolith, managed cloud services and a single database: fewer moving parts means faster learning, and clear module boundaries keep the option to split later. Once usage grows, we let measurements decide what to change - caching a slow query, moving heavy work to background jobs, or extracting one busy module into its own service - instead of adopting microservices before there is a reason.

Technical debt is managed, not ignored. Shortcuts taken to hit a launch are recorded in a debt register with the reason and the trigger for paying them back, a share of each iteration goes to refactoring and dependency upgrades, and code is improved when it is next touched for a feature. That keeps delivery speed steady instead of slowing a little more every release.

Measure, Then Decide

Product Metrics, Feature Flags and Experiments

Instrumentation is designed, not bolted on. Together we pick a small set of metrics that reflect real value - activation, retention by sign-up cohort, and the conversion steps of your key funnel - and write a tracking plan that names every event and property. Revenue and other business-critical events are recorded server-side so ad blockers cannot distort them, consent rules are respected, and technical signals such as error rates, page speed and API latency sit on the same dashboards as product metrics.

Feature flags separate deploying code from releasing it. New features ship switched off, roll out to internal users, then to a small share of customers, with a kill switch if something goes wrong. The same flags power A/B experiments, which we only run when there is enough traffic to reach a meaningful result and with guardrail metrics that stop a test hurting retention or revenue. Flags are removed once a decision is made, so they do not become debt of their own.

Frequently asked questions

What is product engineering? expand_more
Product engineering is the end-to-end process of turning an idea into a working digital product and continuing to improve it after launch. It combines product discovery, UX design, software architecture, development, testing, release automation and analytics, so one team owns both what gets built and how well it works for users.
How long does it take to build an MVP? expand_more
A focused MVP typically takes around two to four months, depending on scope. The main factors are the number of core user flows, integrations with payment, identity or third-party systems, the platforms you need such as web, iOS and Android, and how quickly decisions and feedback move during the project.
How much does product development cost? expand_more
Cost depends on scope, so we price each product after discovery rather than quoting a flat figure. The drivers are feature count, platforms, integrations, design depth, compliance needs and team size. PixoBots uses transparent, milestone-based pricing, so you pay for agreed deliverables and can adjust scope between milestones.
Who owns the code and intellectual property? expand_more
You do. The client owns all source code, designs and intellectual property produced for the product. PixoBots signs an NDA before kickoff, works in repositories you can access throughout the project, and hands over documentation and credentials so your team or another vendor can continue the work at any time.
Do you support the product after launch? expand_more
Yes. After launch we can continue with ongoing iterations, monitoring, bug fixes, performance tuning, dependency and security updates, and new features driven by usage data. Post-launch work is planned as a series of milestones, each a set of improvements prioritised from usage data and user feedback, and you can bring development in-house whenever you are ready - you own the code and documentation.
How do you decide what to build after the MVP? expand_more
We decide with usage data rather than opinion. The product is instrumented from the first release with a tracking plan for activation, retention and key funnel steps, so after launch we review that data with you alongside customer feedback. New features are released behind feature flags to a small group first, and where traffic allows we run A/B experiments before committing to a full rollout.
