info C# / Microsoft Technology

Powerful, Versatile, Enterprise-Ready

PixoBots provides consulting, technology and professional C# development services. C# is a modern, object-oriented language with a mature compiler and runtime, well suited to practical business software that has to stay fast, memory-efficient and maintainable.

It's a general-purpose, multi-paradigm language spanning strong typing and lexically-scoped, imperative, declarative, functional, generic, object-oriented and component-oriented styles. Our end-to-end C# solutions address the challenges and opportunities of your business and help realise its full potential.

We work across the modern Microsoft stack - .NET, ASP.NET Core, Azure and SQL Server - and keep our C# work current with each long-term-support release of .NET.

auto_fix_high Modern C#

Modern C# That Stays Maintainable

Recent C# releases make code easier to read and harder to break. We write to current idioms so the system is still easy to change years from now.

Nullable reference types turn a missing null check into a compiler warning instead of a production exception. Records model immutable data cleanly, and pattern matching with switch expressions replaces long if/else chains.

Async/await runs end to end for I/O, keeping APIs responsive under load. Primary constructors and collection expressions cut boilerplate, and source generators remove runtime reflection, enabling trimming and Native AOT where start-up time matters.

rule

Consistency Enforced by Tooling

A shared .editorconfig, Roslyn analyzers and warnings-as-errors put quality rules in the build itself, so every developer gets the same feedback.

fact_check

Tests Where They Pay Off

Unit tests cover business rules; integration tests cover APIs and data access. That safety net makes later upgrades affordable.

update Platform Lifecycle

.NET 10 LTS and Your Upgrade Path

.NET 10, released in November 2025 alongside C# 14, is a long-term-support (LTS) release with three years of Microsoft support. It is the version we recommend for new C# projects today.

If your application runs on an older version of .NET, plan the move to the latest stable release before its support ends - unsupported versions stop receiving security patches. Moving between modern .NET versions is usually contained - update the target framework and packages, address breaking-change notes, run the tests and redeploy.

Applications on the classic .NET Framework 4.x are a bigger step: it receives no new features and cannot use ASP.NET Core, Linux containers or current C# versions. We move these systems incrementally - see our .NET Framework to .NET migration service for how that works.

balance Honest Fit

When Is C# the Right Choice?

No language is right for everything. Here is how we advise clients before a line of code is written.

check_circle

A Strong Fit

  • Long-lived business systems where type safety and refactoring support keep maintenance costs down.
  • High-throughput web APIs and back-end services built on ASP.NET Core.
  • Organisations already invested in Azure, SQL Server, Active Directory or Microsoft 365.
  • Windows desktop software, and games or AR/VR experiences built in Unity.
  • Teams that want one language across back end, desktop and mobile with .NET MAUI.
alt_route

Consider an Alternative

  • Interactive browser front ends, where TypeScript with React or Angular is usually the better tool - C# then powers the API behind it.
  • Data-science research and model training, where the Python ecosystem leads; C# can still host trained models in production.
  • Highly constrained embedded firmware, better served by C, C++ or Rust.
  • A team that is entirely JVM-based, where Java or Kotlin may be cheaper to staff and support.
devices Where C# Runs

C# Across Web, Desktop and Cloud

Web: ASP.NET Core MVC and Razor Pages for server-rendered sites, minimal APIs for REST services, and Blazor for interactive UI without JavaScript.

Desktop: WPF and Windows Forms apps brought onto modern .NET, and WinUI for new Windows apps - ideal for line-of-business and point-of-sale tools that need local hardware access.

Cloud: containerised services on Linux, background workers, gRPC between internal systems, and Azure Functions for event-driven jobs.

Whatever the target, the commercial terms are the same: we sign an NDA before kickoff, pricing is transparent and milestone-based, and you own the code and IP we deliver. PixoBots has been building software since 2008, and we reply to every inquiry within 24 hours.

help_outline FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is C# used for? expand_more
C# is a general-purpose Microsoft language for building web, desktop, mobile, cloud, game and IoT applications on .NET. PixoBots uses it to deliver secure, scalable, object-oriented software across all these platforms.
Is C# good for enterprise applications? expand_more
Yes. C# and .NET are type-safe, high-performance and well-tooled, with strong security and a huge library ecosystem — a proven choice for large, long-lived enterprise systems.
Can C# build cross-platform apps? expand_more
Yes. With .NET, C# runs on Windows, Linux and macOS, targets mobile via .NET MAUI and powers games via Unity, so one language covers many platforms.
Do you offer C# consulting and support? expand_more
Yes. We provide C# consulting, custom development, integration, migration and ongoing maintenance, with flexible hourly, fixed-price or dedicated-team engagement models.
Which .NET version should a new C# project use? expand_more
The latest stable .NET release - currently .NET 10, a long-term-support version. Applications on older versions should plan an upgrade before their support ends.
Can you modernise an old .NET Framework application? expand_more
Yes. We assess the codebase, its dependencies and its hosting, then move it to modern .NET in stages - often starting with shared libraries and APIs - so the application keeps running and the risk of each step stays small.
