Why project-based training, rather than another course

The gap most graduates hit is not knowledge of syntax. It is everything surrounding the code: working inside a repository someone else set up, reading a ticket that is not fully specified, having work reviewed and revised, and finishing something to a standard rather than to the end of a tutorial.

Courses that end with a finished sample application rarely close that gap, because the hardest parts have been removed in advance. There is no merge conflict, no ambiguous requirement, no reviewer asking why a method is doing four things. Those are precisely the situations a first job consists of.

So our training is built around a real project worked on the way real projects are worked on - version control from day one, tickets, code review, and iteration after feedback. It is slower and less comfortable than following along with a video, and it produces someone who can be useful in a team.

What trainees actually leave with

The most valuable outcome is a project you can talk about in an interview in genuine detail: why the data model is shaped the way it is, what you would do differently now, which part gave you the most trouble and how you resolved it. Interviewers can tell within a few minutes whether someone built a thing or followed a tutorial about building a thing.

Alongside that sit the working habits that make someone employable: committing in coherent units with useful messages, writing enough tests to change code confidently, reading an existing codebase before adding to it, and asking a well-formed question when stuck rather than either guessing or freezing.

We are deliberate about not overpromising here. Training is a genuine head start on becoming employable; it is not a placement guarantee, and anyone offering certainty about hiring outcomes is selling something we would not. What we can commit to is that the work is real and the feedback is honest.
